An AMD EPYC RDP is a Windows Server you reach over Remote Desktop, running on AMD EPYC, AMD's server processor line. Ours run with Gen4 NVMe SSD storage and DDR5 RAM in Los Angeles and Canada, with full Administrator access, in the same six tiers as our AMD Ryzen plans.
AMD EPYC runs in Los Angeles and Canada. Los Angeles also offers AMD Ryzen, so you can pick the CPU family per server.
Six tiers in USD per month. The cards show Canada; the same tiers deploy in Los Angeles.

Every AMD EPYC plan includes Gen4 NVMe SSD storage and DDR5 memory; the locations and their starting prices are listed below.

| Los Angeles | North America | AMD EPYC | $14.99/mo |
| Canada | North America | AMD EPYC | $14.99/mo |
An EPYC plan has the same vCPU, RAM and NVMe storage as the AMD Ryzen plan of the same tier, so the family does not decide how much your server can run. Choose AMD EPYC when:
For many processes at once, several people on the server or memory-hungry services such as databases and builds, choose a larger tier, up to 6 vCPU, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and 500 GB Gen4 NVMe SSD. Plans have 2 vCPU on T1, 4 vCPU on T2 and 6 vCPU on T3 to T6, so above T3 the extra is RAM and NVMe storage, not vCPU. (Windows Server allows two administrative sessions without extra licences; more users need RDS CALs.) If one person drives one desktop and wants every click to land without delay, AMD Ryzen, built for high clock speeds, is usually the better fit. See Ryzen VPS or the full Ryzen vs EPYC guide.
| What matters | AMD EPYC | AMD Ryzen | Intel Xeon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processor line | AMD's server processors | AMD's desktop and workstation processors | Intel's server processors |
| Design focus | Many cores per processor, for servers that host many workloads | High clock speeds for interactive work | Varies widely by generation |
| Your RyzenRDP plan | vCPU, RAM and NVMe set by the tier | The same vCPU, RAM and NVMe per tier | Not offered |
| At RyzenRDP | Los Angeles and Canada | New York, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Germany, United Kingdom and Netherlands | Not offered |

RDP how-to
Remote Desktop uses TCP and UDP port 3389 by default. See how RDP uses each, how to check the port, and how to change it safely on Windows Server.
Troubleshooting
Why Remote Desktop sessions time out or drop, and how to fix it: session time limits, idle and keep-alive settings, network causes and Group Policy paths.
It is a Windows Server virtual machine running on an AMD EPYC processor that you control over Remote Desktop. RyzenRDP runs it on AMD EPYC processors with Gen4 NVMe SSD storage and DDR5 RAM, in Los Angeles and Canada.
Yes. Each plan is your own Windows Server virtual machine, not a shared desktop account, and you sign in as Administrator. We do not sell shared multi-user RDP accounts.
Windows Server allows two simultaneous Remote Desktop sessions for administration without extra licences. More simultaneous users need the Remote Desktop Session Host role and RDS client access licences (CALs), which are not part of the plan price. If you need them, open a ticket before you order and we will tell you what is possible for your server.
We state the CPU family per location rather than model numbers: AMD EPYC in Los Angeles and Canada, always with Gen4 NVMe SSD storage and DDR5 RAM.
Size the tier first: EPYC and Ryzen plans have the same vCPU and RAM tier for tier (2 vCPU on T1, 4 vCPU on T2 and 6 vCPU on T3 to T6), so several users or memory-heavy services need a larger tier on either family. Then pick Ryzen for one responsive desktop and single-threaded software, or EPYC if you prefer AMD's server line or one of its locations. If you are unsure, ask us; the Ryzen vs EPYC guide has a checklist.
Yes. You have full Administrator access, so you can install SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL or any other database, provided you hold the right licence for it and stay within our acceptable use policy. Choose a tier with enough RAM for your data set.
