What is RDP used for? Workloads that run well on Ryzen RDP

RDP is used to control a computer somewhere else as if you were sitting at it. With a hosted Windows server, that means software that runs 24/7 in a data centre while you connect from any laptop, Mac or phone. Here is what RyzenRDP customers run, and what we do not allow.

What is RDP used for?

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) is used to work on a remote Windows computer: you see its desktop, use its apps and files, and it keeps running after you disconnect. People use it to keep software online around the clock, to get a faster or more stable machine than their own, and to reach one desktop from several devices.

Trading platforms 24/7

Charting and order platforms such as NinjaTrader and TradingView's desktop app run on a Windows server that stays online when your laptop sleeps, close to the markets you trade. Trading VPS covers sizing and locations.

Bots and automation

Discord and Telegram bots, Python and Node.js scripts, workflow tools such as n8n and scheduled jobs, running as Windows services that restart on their own. Bot hosting shows how to set them up.

Game servers and emulators

Dedicated game servers for you and your friends, on fast AMD Ryzen cores near your players. There is no GPU, so a VPS hosts games rather than plays them; Gaming VPS explains the difference and which emulators can work.

Remote development and remote work

A Windows desktop for Visual Studio, builds, databases and day-to-day work that you can reach from any device, without carrying the load on your own machine. Developer VPS has the details.

What is not allowed on RyzenRDP servers

No spam or bulk email, no hacking, scanning or brute-forcing, no attacks on other networks, no fraud or illegal content, and no automation that abuses other services' terms. Port 25 is closed by default. The full list is in the acceptable use policy.

Use cases FAQ

What is RDP used for?

To use a remote Windows computer as if you were at it: running software 24/7, getting more computing power than your own device, and reaching one desktop from several devices.

What can I run on a Ryzen RDP?

Anything legal that runs on Windows Server and fits your plan: trading platforms, bots and scripts, game servers, development tools, databases and office software, within the acceptable use policy.

Can I run bots or scripts 24/7?

Yes. The server keeps running when you disconnect. Install bots as Windows services or scheduled tasks so they start again after a reboot.

Can I use RDP for gaming?

For hosting game servers, yes. For playing modern 3D games, no: there is no GPU, and Remote Desktop is not built for fast-moving 3D graphics.

What is not allowed on RyzenRDP servers?

Spam and bulk email, hacking, scanning and brute-forcing, attacks, fraud, illegal content and abusive automation. See the acceptable use policy.
